Nothing spells confidence more than a girl walking in holding her head high feeling comfortable in her own skin. More than likely you’re going to be a nervous wreck. Having an outfit that complements your body and you feel comfortable in is key. It’s also one less thing to worry about in the interview process and you can focus on answering the questions to the best of your ability.
Every job is different, so what that perfect PR outfit is can be a bit of a challenge. If you’re unsure follow the following rules:
It never hurts to be overdressed: It shows professionalism, eagerness, and classiness. It also shows that you thought about your outfit and that you care what you look like and that you really want the job.
Simple is Best: Try to stay away from anything that’s too flashy. Black bottoms (knee-length skirt or pants) are a good base piece. Black is slimming and then you can dress up your top.
Put your boobs away: I know what it’s like to try and find a shirt that covers and still looks professional. Things I’ve found that work are lightweight camisoles in various colors underneath the common button up. You can unbutton the button-up to the center of your chest. This way you’re not getting the "peek-a-boo" look from the side and you still have the look of professionalism. Also you can add a fun necklace or earrings.
Shoes are a girl’s best friend: People differ on this. Some say closed toe is the only option. I’ve worn cute open toed wedges that look professional, and I got the job…so it all depends. I’d 100% stay away from the super tall stilettos and strappy hooker shoes…leave those for the bar!
