MTV's a Leo like me! No wonder it shines above the rest, also like yours truly.
MTV has been making waves and setting trends ever since its start on August 1, 1981. (It's as old as Justin Timberlake *pointing that out for no reason at all except that i♥jt *.) At the time when it first aired there was nothing else like it on the air with its back to back music videos, inspiring both society and culture alike. It paved the way for future stations VH1, BET, and FUSE, as well as reality tv shows with its hit series The Real World. At 25 years of age MTV is still going strong with shows like Pimp My Ride, TRL, Laguna Beach, and my personal favourite Laguna Beach spinoff The Hills. MTV has left dozens of outrageous award show moments permanently embedded in our brains -- who'll ever forget that Michael Jackson/Lisa Marie Presley liplock, or the more recent Madonna/Britney/Christina one for that matter? For all this and more we raise our glasses, both real and imaginary (for those who are too young or alcoholics or both), to you.
